Post Brexit Northern Ireland Protocol – Update 25.08.2020
It has been announced that there will be Import Declarations required for goods moving from Mainland UK to Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland is remaining part of the UK Customs Territory, however, Import Declarations will need to be presented, which we will provide as part of our Customs Process Services. It’s really important that you highlight this to your customers in Northern Ireland as declaration charges will apply.
The Government has introduced a “scheme” to traders in Northern Ireland to reimburse these costs which is the Trader Support Service, for which they need to register an interest. This can be done at the below here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/trader-support-service. This scheme will provide £200m of support funding for 2 years.
As part of our Brexit Readiness we would urge you to share this information with all your Northern Ireland clients so that they are registered. We’ll do the rest !!
